- The SOEM-MMA Continuous Professional Development on Occupational Medicine and Workshops on Spirometry and Audiometry was held succesfully on the 3rd and 4th October 2009. Over 70 participants attended the 2 days event. The Society would like to thank all participants for your support. Look out for more of our activities on this website.

- Occupational Health for Health Care Workers: Caring for the Carers by Dr. G. Jayakumar and A/P Dr. M. Retneswari had just recently been released. The Society

The Society of Occupational and Environmental Medicine is a society under the Malaysian Medical Association, serving as a platform for medical professionals interested in the field of occupational and environmental medicine to get together and share their experiences. The society also serve as a body for occupational and environmental medicine practioner to raise their concerns to the authorities involve in occupational safety and health in this country such as the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), the Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) and the Ministry of Health.

The Society is also active in promoting continuous medical education by organising series of seminars and clinal case discussions throughout the year. Currently, The Society is the most active society within MMA, as it organizes almost monthly seminars and workshops throughout the year.

The Society of Occupational and Environmental Medicine is also the organising body of the Regional Conference of Occupational Health, held biannually in Kuala Lumpur. The last conference was in the year 2008 , had attracted participants from throughout the country as well as neighbouring countries such as Singapore and Brunei.

Members in the society also represent MMA in the National Council of Occupational Safety and Health, and also in other working committees at the national level.

Membership in the society is through the MMA.
